Suspect in Dublin homicide near elementary school detained in Southern California
DUBLIN, Calif. - A man suspected to be involved in a fatal shooting in a Dublin apartment was detained Saturday in Barstow, nearly 400 miles away from the scene of the crime. Dublin police said authorities detained the suspect around noon regarding the shooting at the Emerald Park Apartments on 5050 Hacienda Drive on Friday around 2:20 p.m.

After Jessie Peterson, 31, was hospitalized in Sacramento in the spring of 2023, her family was told she had left the medical center against the advice of doctors. They spent the next year searching for her, only to learn she died just two hours after last speaking with her mother. In a $25 million lawsuit filed against the hospital, the family says the hospital never notified them of her death and learned she died only when a sheriff’s detective was able to track the case.
