Scattered showers persist through Monday
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - Skies cleared Saturday afternoon, giving way to sunshine and very warm temperatures, but we remain in the throes of a low-pressure system proving rain and a few thunderstorms. The cold front with this system will cross over NCWV tonight, bringing a few stray showers and storms along with it. By Sunday, the front will be to our east, cooling our temperatures off some. But, humidity and scattered showers will remain through Monday evening. From now through the end of the low-pressure system, rainfall totals will likely range from a few tenths of an inch to one inch. This is a little less than we had hoped for, given the moderate to severe drought conditions persisting, but any bit helps. High pressure will dry us out by Tuesday, bringing a return to low humidity and mostly sunny skies. Temperatures to start the week will be in the mid-70s (lowlands) and mid-upper 60s (mountains), but will start to rise past Wednesday to end the week in the mid-80s (lowlands) and mis-upper 70s (mountains). Humidity will stay low despite the temperature increase.
