Las Cruces police seek volunteers for Victims Advocate Team
The Las Cruces Police Department has put out a call for volunteers for the Victims Advocate Team, part of the LCPD’s Victims Assistance Unit. The Victims Advocate Team works with professional advocates, police officers and detectives to assist victims of crime, the department explained in a news release. Those interested in a law enforcement career, victims’ advocacy or experience related to criminal justice or social work were encouraged to apply.

Satterwhite to use Air Raid Offense
Jal High School’s new head football coach and athletic director, Brent Satterwhite, has already begun to have a significant impact on the Panther Football Team. Coming to Jal with 35 years of experience as a coach, Satterwhite spent the last four years as head coach and athletic director for Tatum. He says leaving Tatum was a hard decision for him, “because I love Tatum and the kids there. Great little community.” He is a native of Texas. He attended college at Abilene Christian University and then West Texas State University, which is now known as West Texas A&M University. He teaches social studies, physical education, and weightlifting.

‘All Individuals First’ 10th Anniversary Fundraiser Aug. 1
All Individuals First is hosting a 10th Anniversary celebration at 6 p.m., Aug. 1 in the Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church’s Kelly Hall. The celebration, which also is a fundraiser for the organization, will feature a dinner, silent auction, games and a raffle.
