Brookfield police chase of 2 stolen vehicles; 3 teens, 2 men arrested
MERTON, Wis. - Brookfield police were engaged in two police chases at the same during early Wednesday, July 17. Those chases ended with the arrests of five people. Officials say around 4 a.m. Wednesday, the Waukesha County Communications Center received a report of a stolen vehicle from the Village of Merton. Deputies investigating another vehicle entry on McKerrow Drive in the Village of Lisbon spotted the stolen vehicle, along with another, speeding southbound on Highway 164.

Waukesha, WI-based Zenith Tech, a Walbec Group Company, helped repair a bridge along the 52-mile Glacial Drumlin State Trail that runs between Milwaukee and Madison. “These types of jobs are especially rewarding because so many people use the trail for recreational purposes,” said Steve Firari, construction manager. “It involved rehabbing a pedestrian/bike bridge that was built on an old railroad bed across Rock Lake near Lake Mills. The piers were failing, so we essentially built new ones to make it more sound and safer.”
