Wisconsin ranks dead last in the nation for arts funding, spending just 18 cents per capita on the arts. In contrast, Minnesota pays about $9.67 per capita. This lack of funding creates financial barriers for Wisconsin artists — especially women. According to the National Museum of Women in the Arts, 46% of visual artists in the U.S. are women, but they earn just 74% of what male artists do.

Wisconsin Governor Tours Lincoln Park Zoo, Explains Costal Community Grants
The city of Manitowoc is getting grant money from the state to improve an area of the Lincoln Park Zoo. Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers announced earlier this week that Manitowoc will get a little more than $95,000 for improvements in an area on the Little Manitowoc River through the Wisconsin Department of Administration’s Wisconsin Costal Management Program.

The UW Hospitals also received the highest ratings for 18 procedures and conditions impacting people 65 and older.
