Mullins pastor nominated for Stellar Award

MULLINS, S.C. (WBTW) — A Mullins pastor has been nominated for a Stellar Gospel Award in the category for Traditional Female Gospel Artist of the year along with other award-winning artists.

Eartha Edwards said at an early age she knew her voice would be a tool used to uplift people around the world. She sang her first solo during a church convention as a child.

“I’ve always watched the Stellar Awards and to see now that God has placed me in a position to where I will be a part of the Stellar awards, I’m totally excited, totally excited about it,” she said.

Her pastor, Bishop Michael A. Blue of The Door of Hope Christian Church, said he’s proud of Edwards.

“To be nominated is a distinguished honor, for someone from Marion, South Carolina considered to be a part of the ‘Flyover Zone,’ but to be a part of her life and her achievement to this point, makes me extremely proud of her, her husband, and the connections she has,” he said.

Her album titled “It All Belongs to God” has seven songs. She said being amongst gospel greats she listened to growing up is like a dream come true.

“I’m grateful for everyone in the community that has supported me and CCFM has been a great support, also,” she said.

The Stellar Awards kicks off this weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada.
