Muncy, Pa. — Erin Snyder, LPN, Muncy Place, part of UPMC Senior Communities in North Central Pa., was recently recognized as a recipient of the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses.

Erin was nominated by a resident, who shared:

“Erin cares for everyone with all her heart. She explains everything so you know what or why she is doing something and what it means. When I was there, Erin was so helpful and caring. In her job, her heart is where it belongs. She makes the day bright with her kind and caring nature. She opens her heart to everyone to talk and lets them know they are in a wonderful place, which makes being there easier. The smile she has on her face makes it easier to get through the day. Erin had such a positive impact.”

DAISY Award winners are nominated by patients, family members of patients, and colleagues. Each DAISY Award Honoree is given a DAISY Award pin, a certificate of honor, and a stone sculpture called "A Healer’s Touch" handcrafted by a tribe in Zimbabwe.

Anyone can nominate a nurse for the award including co-workers, patients, patient family members, or physicians. To nominate a UPMC nurse, visit UPMC.com/ThankaNurse .
