Chandler Alderman’s freshman baseball season at Middle Tennessee State University began with a bang when he tossed a 10-0 eight-inning no-hitter against Liberty University with 11 strikeouts on March 23.

Since then, the 6-foot-5 left-hander has had some more ups and a few downs as expected for a first-year pitcher making the transition from pitching for North Boone in the Big Northern Conference to Division 1.

In his most recent effort on Saturday, Alderman threw seven innings in a 10-9 win over New Mexico State and allowed seven hits and three runs. He walked two and struck out four. He left with a 4-3 lead, but the bullpen allowed the Aggies (14-19, 3-8 CUSA) to take the lead before the Blue Raiders eventually rallied for a win.
