Local animal rescues, shelters receive state grants for sterilization program
Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler Harper announced that the Georgia Department of Agriculture has issued grant awards for the 2024 Dog and Cat Sterilization Program. The Department received nearly 170 applications and issued 93 awards between $1,000 and $20,000 based on each applicant’s needs. The Georgia Department of Agriculture’s DCSP Grant helps reduce the strain of overpopulation on Georgia’s animal shelters by providing financial assistance for low-cost spay and neuter programs in communities across the state.

ATLANTA – State Representative Jason Ridley,R-Chatsworth, was recently appointed by Speaker Jon Burns R-Newington to serve as a member of a Georgia House of Representatives study committee on private water systems.
