MURRAY, Kentucky – Before Ja Morant became must see tv in Memphis.

Before the Grizzlies made him the number two pick in the 2019 draft, Morant was a relative unknown at little known Murray State.

He was a racer and will forever be a racer.

Just weeks after being cleared for all basketball related activities, the injured labrum looks pretty good as Morant was back at Murray State Thursday for the start of his two day basketball camp. Just like he did here in Memphis.

And just like Memphis, hundreds of kids turned out, putting a smile on the face of the Grizzlies prized point guard.

As for his health, Morant says he’s still not 100-percent but vows to get there with training camp closing fast.

“I’m really full go. It’s just building endurance now. So if I had to pick a number, I’d say probably like 75%,” Morant said. “And I feel like that’s still scary for whoever’s in front of me.”

    Isn’t that the truth.

But there’s another reason Morant is back at his alma mater this weekend.

That’s because Morant is going into the Racer’s Hall of Fame with the ceremony set for Saturday night.
