1 killed, 2 hurt in crash on Highway 17 near Murrells Inlet, highway patrol says

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — One person was killed and two others injured Sunday evening in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 17 near Murrells Inlet, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

It happened at about 6:10 p.m. when a 2011 Honda Accord and a 2023 Subaru Outback collided near Highway 17 Business, SCHP Lance Cpl. Lena Butler said.

The driver of the Honda died in the crash, and a passenger was taken to a local hospital by EMS, Butler said. The Subaru driver was also taken to a local hospital by EMS.

No additional information was immediately available. Count on News13 for updates.
