MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. ( WHNT ) — Muscle Shoals High School (MSHS) has announced the hiring of its new head baseball coach.

According to MSHS, Gary Lamm has been named the new baseball coach for the Trojans. The school says Lamm, an inductee into the 2022 Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association’s Hall of Fame, has had a distinguished 36-year coaching career and has over 500 wins, including over 400 while at Loretto High School.

“We are incredibly fortunate to have Coach Lamm join our Muscle Shoals family,” said Principal Kevin Davis. “His achievements on the field are remarkable, but even more so is his character and dedication to his players’ growth as both athletes and individuals.”

MSHS says Coach Lamm’s dedication to his players has seen many go on to play college and professional baseball. Additionally, he was recognized for his contributions to designing Loretto High School’s baseball field, which the school named “Gary Lamm Field” in 2018.

“Coach Lamm brings an extensive wealth of knowledge, not just in developing a successful baseball team, but more importantly, in shaping and mentoring outstanding young men,” Athletic Director Scott Basden said.
