Several beaches and parks along the lakeshore were closed as stormwater runoff increased bacteria in the area.

As of Thursday morning all but the Muskegon State Water Sports Park are reopened, though it has been upgraded from a closer to an advisory.

Testing done Tuesday by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) showed bacterial content along the lakeshore exceeded Michigan Water Quality Standards following the storm that knocked out power for over 150,000 customers.

The Muskegon County Health Department says testing will continue Friday.
