MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — The iconic Budweiser Clydesdales are coming to West Michigan this weekend.

The Tyler Sales Company will host the horses during a parade on Friday to mark the company’s 90th anniversary.

Organizers say the Clydesdales will parade down Western Avenue starting at 4 p.m. and will then be staged outside of Hackley Park from 5 to 6 p.m.

Budweiser’s connections to the giant horses also date back 90 years. To celebrate the repeal of prohibition, August Busch Jr. and Adolphus Busch III gave their father, August Busch Sr., a six-horse Clydesdale hitch. Company officials liked the marketing concept of a horse-drawn beer wagon and were proven right when the horses and wagon drew giant crowds in a tour across the Northeast.

The Budweiser Clydesdales make hundreds of appearances across the country each year.
