The beginnings of the ideas to enrich the community were a throwback everyone could agree on. Lighting up Western Avenue around the holidays. The memories of yesteryear held by so many in Muskegon combined with the thought of starting new ones for the next generation was the perfect launching pad, so GLOW was the first event. As the Lakeshore Legacy Project grew, along came a Halloween Trunk or Treat. Outdoor concerts were HUGE of the course of summer and in 2023 they had a record 12,000 people attend the Downtown Muskegon Ball Drop! These are free events and the idea of them is that bringing the community together is the key and being able to bring together the sponsors and those who pull off the events and the people in The Lakeshore Legacy Project are the gears that make it turn.
