Wrong way I-69 crash results in critical injuries
A head-on collision last night on I-69 in Capac resulting in critical injuries to a wrong-way driver. Police were called on reports of light-colored sedan driving in the wrong direction on Westbound I-69 near the Capac Road exit began coming in just before 10 pm. A short time later, the vehicle reportedly collided with a pick-up truck hauling a recreation trailer, east of the exit. The driver of the sedan was extricated by local fire crews and airlifted to an Ann Arbor area hospital with reports of serious injuries to both legs. They were last known to be in critical condition. The truck’s driver declined on-site medical treatment. The crash forced a closure of westbound I-69 and one lane of the eastbound span during rescue, clean-up, and investigation.

Community outraged about local business owned by convicted child predator
The Blueberry Lane Farms upcoming annual Blueberry Festival has been a tradition in the Otter Lake and surrounding communities for seventy-six years. While many don’t want to see the tradition itself come to an end, resentment and fear is spreading as more parents learn of the actions of the current owners. Seth Parsons, owner of Blueberry Lane Farms in Otter Lake, was charged with aggravated child pornography in August, 2012 in DuPage County, Illinois . The Illinois State Registry states that Mr. Parsons was twenty-eight years old at the time of the offence, whereas his victim was a ten year old child at the time.

Max Jones was born on February 17, 1998, in Rochester, Michigan. Jones comes from a hockey family as his father, Brad, played for three NHL teams (Winnipeg, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia). Max’s brother, Mitch, plays in the Federal Prospects Hockey League, and his cousin, Harrison Caines, is a forward at Nipissing University. Max played on the Honeybaked 13U AAA team with fellow NHL player Ben Gleason and scored 13 goals with 15 assists in 19 games during the 2011-12 season. The next season, Jones joined the Compuware 16U AAA hockey club and contributed five goals and eight assists in 20 games. The big forward played for the Honeybaked 18U AAA team during the 2013-14 season before joining the United States National Development Program.
