The Elba 8U Little League team won the Imlay City tournament on July 14. Elba defeated Almont 14-13 in the finals and Capac 14-4 in the semifinals. Almont had defeated Imlay City 18-6 in the semifinals. Capac opened tournament play with a 7-6 win over Cass City. Burtchville Woman Pleads Guilty to Embezzling More than $86,000
LANSING – Yesterday, Lisa Marie Tramski, 57, of Burtchville, pled guilty in the 31st Circuit Court in St. Clair County to one count of Embezzlement of $50,000 or more, but less than $100,000, announced Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel. Tramski embezzled more than $86,000 from an elderly woman after becoming her court-appointed guardian. Tramski will pay $51,600.75 in restitution prior to sentencing as part of the plea.

Wrong way I-69 crash results in critical injuries
A head-on collision last night on I-69 in Capac resulting in critical injuries to a wrong-way driver. Police were called on reports of light-colored sedan driving in the wrong direction on Westbound I-69 near the Capac Road exit began coming in just before 10 pm. A short time later, the vehicle reportedly collided with a pick-up truck hauling a recreation trailer, east of the exit. The driver of the sedan was extricated by local fire crews and airlifted to an Ann Arbor area hospital with reports of serious injuries to both legs. They were last known to be in critical condition. The truck’s driver declined on-site medical treatment. The crash forced a closure of westbound I-69 and one lane of the eastbound span during rescue, clean-up, and investigation.
