Indiana Woman Shares Raw and Emotional Truth About Her Dad’s Suicide
Yesterday, I was surprised when I received a message on Facebook from a friend I hadn't heard from in nearly a year. I use the term "friend" loosely here—our daughters danced together years ago, and we share some mutual acquaintances. I always enjoyed seeing her camping adventures; they go all out with weeks-long trips in the wilderness without modern conveniences. Who does that?! She also runs a charming little handmade craft business called Willow+Ash.
Map Proves That Indiana is a Massive Speed Trap
You will see a lot of law enforcement officers throughout Indiana just waiting for speeders to pass by. There's one map that shows Indiana really is just one big speed trap. Indiana is known as "The Crossroads of America," mainly because the city of Indianapolis is the hub for several major Interstate highways that crisscross the state, connecting Hoosiers to the rest of the United States. Recently, the state of Indiana was named one of the best states in the entire country to drive in. That being said, we've all seen some careless drivers along Indiana roadways. For some, it's almost a daily occurrence. You know what kind of drivers I am talking about, careless drivers weaving in and out of traffic, distracted drivers, speeders, the list goes on and on. This is especially true with speeders. You know what I'm talking about. The ones who are flying down the road, weaving in and out of traffic, without a care in the world. Well, it's those drivers that have caused Indiana to be one big speed trap.
Hey, Pre-2000s KY/IN Folks…Remember These Mystery Meats?
You'll be having a conversation, and then--just like that--a brain wrinkles unfolds and you remember something you hadn't thought of in years, if not decades. That happened during a discussion of things people who came before me used to consume that I find revolting. Honestly, I haven't met anyone younger than my parents' generation who would just drink a glass of buttermilk. I accidentally did when I was a kid--it was sitting next to a carton of 2% milk in the fridge, and they looked alike--and I immediately spit it into the sink. Buttermilk is for baking--and it's GREAT for that purpose--and that's it, in my opinion.

It's that time of year where you will want a nice bowl of chili. Apparently, this Indiana restaurant has the best in the Hoosier State. Indiana has a lot of great restaurants that have been open for years. These restaurants have become staples in that area, and people must go whenever they are in town. They are restaurants that can even become bucket-list places to dine at. Whether it be comfort food, burgers, fried chicken, seafood, Italian, Mexican, steakhouses, or any other type of restaurant, there are certain places that stand out among the rest. As the weather begins to feel more fall-like, many people in Indiana will want to enjoy a nice hot bowl of chili. Granted, you could easily make a delicious pot of chili at home, but if you are going out to eat, where can you go in Indiana to get the finest bowl of chili the state has to offer?

Head to This Indiana Wildlife Park For a Dazzling Fall Light Show
Shamefully, I have not visited Wilstem Wildlife Park in five years and that, absolutely, must change. Back in 2019, we were there for a fun Bucket List visit and, among other things, got to watch a grizzly bear eat cookies. Yeah, I know. It sounds like a cartoon. But, nope.

GROSS: Indiana Dollar Tree Urine Candle Bandit on the Loose
A Dollar Tree in Indiana has quite an interesting problem where someone is peeing in their candles for a month, and they can't catch them. Everyone loves to have scented candles in their home, especially this time of year. When you go to the store to buy candles, you don't just read the label and say "I'll take that." No, you have to open up the lid and smell the candle to decide if that's the scent that you want in your home or not. That being said, if you're buying Dollar Tree candles in Indiana, you might want to think twice. I found an interesting and disgusting article online from WSBT in South Bend that blew my mind. It's a story that will make you think "What is wrong with people?!"
