Pilot confirmed dead in Tred Avon River plane crash
EASTON — Officials with the Maryland State Police confirmed the pilot of a small aircraft that crashed into the Tred Avon River near Easton Tuesday morning was killed in the incident. Two injured in shooting at Cambridge Exxon
CAMBRIDGE — Police are investigating a shooting that injured two at the Corner Market Exxon Thursday afternoon. Cambridge police say officers responded to the corner of Church Creek Road and State Boundary Road after a report of shots fired around 2:50 p.m. on Thursday. While en route, officers were told a white vehicle was seen speeding away from the scene. Police eventually found the vehicle, which sustained damaged in the shooting. A 19-year-old man and 20-year-old man were treated at the University of Maryland Medical Shore Center for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, police said. A Cambridge Police Department release indicated that the shooting appears to have been "targeted." Officers are conducting an active investigation. Queenstown sewer smoke testing seeks public cooperation
QUEENSTOWN — A public notice was issued to all residents and occupants of the Town of Queenstown as the Public Works Department will be conducting smoke testing of the sanitary sewer system in July. This testing will begin July 8 and is scheduled to take several days (weather permitting). This study will involve the opening and entering of manholes in the streets and public utility easements. Queenstown holds the line on taxes
QUEENSTOWN — The Queenstown Town Commissioners approved the FY25 budget with no new taxes June 12. The real property tax rate is 23 cents per $100 of assessed real property value. The tax rate will remain of 58 cents per $100 of all assessed commercial or business personal property and a tax rate of $2 per $100 of assessed public utilities The FY25 budget includes the adopted enterprise budget for the town’s water and sewer operations which included an increase to monthly water and sewer consumption rates by 8 percent put forth by the commissioners in 2022.
