SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – The British invasion changed music in the 1960s. Unfortunately, the two bands that led the revolution have never performed on the same stage – until now.

An upcoming show at the Strand Theatre seeks to settle the argument about which British band was better—pop icons The Beatles or the bad-to-the-bone Rolling Stones. Fans in Shreveport will have the opportunity to decide for themselves on November 22.

Tribute bands Abbey Road and Satisfaction – will take the stage for “Beatles vs. Stones – A Musical Showdown.”

“Music fans never had a chance to see the Beatles and the Rolling Stones perform on the same marquee,” said Chris LeGrand, who plays “Mick Jagger” in the show. “Now, music aficionados can watch this debate play out live on stage.”

Shreveport is one of 125 cities on a tour that has included stops throughout the U.S., Australia, and Canada; has been touring since 2011 and performs long-term residencies at several Harrah’s Casino properties.

Audiences can expect to hear the most popular tunes from the Stones and Beatles throughout the 90-minute show as each band performs two sets in custom outfits made to replicate both bands’ wardrobes. There is also a bit of “good-natured jabbing” between the groups.

“Without Beatlemania, the Stones might still be a cover band in London,” said Chris Overall, who plays “Paul.”

“They certainly have more pop songs, but we’re a really great live show. The fans are in for an incredible night of music!” says LeGrand.

Presale for the reimagined British invasion starts on Tuesday, August 20; the general public can purchase tickets starting Friday, August, 23 at 10 a.m.

“Beatles vs. Stones” tickets start at $45 and will be available at thestrandtheatre.com, by phone at 318-226-8555, or at the Theatre Box Office.
