RUSTON, La. (KTVE/KARD) — On Friday, August 23, 2024, Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser and the Louisiana Office of Cultural Development, Division of the Arts, announced the establishment of a new Cultural District and the modification of boundaries for three existing Cultural Districts in Louisiana. Officials confirmed that Ruston Cultural District is one of the locations that will receive modification.

According to officials, the new Cultural District brings the statewide total to 127, representing 77 municipalities and 43 parishes.

Culture means business in Louisiana. Our Cultural Districts program is one way we are revitalizing our communities and producing a solid return on investment for Louisiana through the hundreds of new businesses setting up shop in these districts. We are excited to welcome another new cultural district to the program where it will play a vital role in the life and redevelopment of the community.

    Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser
