EL DORADO, Ark. (KTVE/KARD) — On Thursday, August 29, 2024, South Arkansas Regional Hospital announced its new SARH Advisory Board and officials are seeking individuals to serve on the board. According to officials, the new board will be important in advancing the hospital’s commitment to quality patient care and safety.

Officials also confirmed that the new board will be involved in decision-making that correlates to an environment of safety, dignity, respect, and quality experiences for patients and families. The board will also serve as a formal mechanism for involving patients, families, and staff as partners for policy and program decision-making in healthcare settings.

It will be dedicated to assuring the delivery of the highest standards of comprehensive and compassionate health care, fostering partnerships among patients, families, and health care providers. Thus, it will act as an advisory resource to the leadership and staff of SARH.

The SARH Board of Directors felt it was imperative that the hospital receives ongoing feedback from our community relative to the hospital. The new SARH Advisory Board will allow community members to share their experiences at the hospital, either as a patient or a family member of a patient. The goal is to have a robust and meaningful board that provides input to allow our hospital to continuously improve on the care we provide.

According to officials, the board will have approximately 8 to 10 members with two-year service terms. Nominees will be screened by the hospital leadership team to ensure that members represent a cross-section of hospital consumers and the community. Members will be approved by the SARH Governing Board.
