GRAMBLING, La. (KTVE/KARD) — On September 6, 2024, Grambling President Dr. Martin Lemelle Jr. was honored at the first-ever investiture ceremony at Grambling State University. The public event took place at 9 AM at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center.

Alumni of the university gathered on stage to honor the newly elected president. Grambling mayor, Alvin Bradley, presented Lemelle with a key to the city after delivering a speech to the auditorium.

Keynote speakers described Lemelle as a leader and a fighter for the university and students. This comes just shortly after announcing the historical announcement of the first digital library building at an HBCU.
