MONROE La. ( KTVE/KARD ) — The Warhawks of ULM are soaring after starting their season off 2-0.

With a bye this week–Bryant Vincent and company prepare for their toughest test yet.

A trip to Austin, Texas to take on the Longhorns of the University of Texas.

A big challenge ahead–but a chance for this team to continue to grow.

The Warhawks begin a tough stretch of the schedule–but it is one they aren’t shying away from.

“We’ve got rated the hardest conference in Group of 5, the hardest schedule in Group of 5,” Vincent said. “We’ve got Texas, we got to back-to-back conference champion Troy and then we’ve got James Madison coming here who has won 25 games in the last two/two and a half years, Southern Miss. We’ve got a huge schedule in front of us, but that’s what it is. That’s what it is. It’s how we handle our business daily. It’s how we continue to build this program daily and we control what we can control. We know we’ve got a tough road ahead, but we are willing to go down that road.”

The Bryant Vincent era of Warhawk Football is off to a perfect start.

With wins over Jackson State and UAB–the hype around ULM Football is real.

But as well as the season has started–Vincent knows their is still a long road ahead.

But he says–that only means it’s time to crank it up a notch.

“I think the biggest thing is we have to understand what got us to this point and the work and the focus and the preparation that got us here and there’s no need to change. There’s actually time to put more gas on the fire and to press harder and to focus more and really put everything into this program under the microscope so we can improve,” Vincent said. “We can control what we can control. This is a journey. It’s a journey and we’ve got 10 games left and each game is a life and a chapter and book of its own and right now, we are off to two good chapters and we’ve got to go to the next.”
