EL DORADO, Ark. (KTVE/KARD) — Thursday evening at 5, EL Dorado had a City Council meeting. The meeting was much better than the last meeting and the agenda went very smoothly. It all begins with an apology from mayor Paul Choate about his action during the last meeting.

I made a point to apologize for allowing my frustrations to have a conversation that was unnecessary. And at the end of our conversation, I think the Hendersons and myself came to an agreement that communication is important. We walked away from each other with I think a very common thought. and that’s both of us, all three of us. There was three of us sitting there having that conversation. Want nothing but what is best for this community.

Everything went very smooth from that point. The billboard ordinance was passed. An ordinance to improve sewer facilities was also passed as well.

An ordinance authorizing a construction of extensions, betterments, and improvements to the sewer facilities of the city of EL Dorado. Arkansas authorizes the issuance of a water and sewer. For the purpose of financing all or a portion of the construction

Overall, the committee worked well together to decide on a few small things. A new project was also introduced called the Greenway Project. The only issue that came up was when a discussion about the sports complex which is now being pushed to the next meeting.

The public works director go good. and I’m going to say this again, all money is not good money. This guy is the man that is out there running it. He said everything is good. We blame him for everything else. If it don’t go well, we can blame him for this.

The next city council meeting is October 10th. The community is welcomed to attend.
