ULM Foundation announces cancer research scholarship

MONROE, La. (KTVE/KARD) — On Tuesday, September 17, 2024, the University of Louisiana Monroe announced a new scholarship for students who are researching cancer. The Paul W. Sylvester Louisiana Cancer Foundation Endowed Scholarship was created to support cancer research at the university’s College of Pharmacy.

The funds for the scholarship was given by private donations with assistance from the Louisiana Cancer Foundation.

School is getting expensive. It’s really nice to be able to help them. I teach these students and I really enjoy spending time with them, interacting with them. I just wanted to give back to the community, but also to the College of Pharmacy to help our students.
