ULM School of VAPA to host two concerts, October 7th and October 23rd

MONROE, La. (KTVE/KARD) — The School of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Louisiana – Monroe will host two concerts on Monday, October 7, 2024, and Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 7:30 p.m. at the Emy – Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall on 200 University Ave.

The first concert, “Picture This,” will be presented by performer and composer Brian KM. It focuses on horns and electronics. Brian has performed these original compositions for horn and electronics for over 100 venues in the United States, Australia, and Canada. Admission is free and open to the public.

On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 7:30 p.m., 956 Brass will perform a faculty brass ensemble band from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. The members include William Haugeberg, DM, Monica C. Martinez, DMA, and Alexander Sanso.

Their performance will focus on original and transcribed works for the brass trio by Anton Reicha, Gina Gillie, Ivette Herriman Rodriguez, and Shane Strickland.
