SCAM ALERT: Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office warn residents of phone scam

OUACHITA PARISH, La. (KTVE/KARD) — The Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office warns residents of scam phone calls made to them using deputies’ names.

According to OPSO, they will NEVER call and ask for money or call about a warrant on demand, which you have to pay over the phone to avoid being arrested.

OPSO urges residents to play an active role in preventing scams and never to give out any personal information

If this happens to you, OPSO advises residents to call 318 – 329 – 1200 and report it immediately.
