BOSSIER CITY, La. ( KTAL/KMSS ) – A special homecoming honoring seniors happened on Friday afternoon.

Huntington High School varsity cheerleading squad started the pep rally with a performance at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans. The senior living center hosted a homecoming party to celebrate its residents, who were dressed in their finest outfits.

This year’s theme is “A Trip Down Memory Lane.”

A king and queen were also announced. Tony Neal, longtime photographer for KTAL/KMSS, asked the couple about their new royal status.

“Sid you think y’all were going to be the king and the queen?” “Oh heaven’s no I thought she was going to be queen, replied the crowned queen. “Yes I did,” replied the king.

“It’s the memories that we share on homecomings when you go to your high-schools. To your old colleges. You share memories and talk about the old times. That’s what we like to do is take a trip down memory lane. That’s what bridges our residents and our staff,” said Wesley Pepitone, administrator.

Three centenarians, who are turning 100, 101, and 102 years old, were also celebrated. The fun event brought smiles and sparkles to the residents’ faces.
