Ruston, La. (KTVE/KARD) — In this week’s Bulldog Blitz sponsored by Jim Taylor Ford in Ruston, the rigors of fall camp continue for the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, but the coaching staff wants to make sure the team is able to perform at a high level when gameday arrives. The focus as of right now is perfecting the little things so that they become second nature in live action.

“We talk about it as a staff, and [Head] coach [Sonny] Cumbie talks about it as a staff. How do we deal with adversity? That’s going to be the key is how we handle adversity. How do we handle success and handle adversity and right now the main thing for us is to respond with grit and that’s our mentality as a team right now. As soon as we get past that point, and we can deal with adversity because you’ll face it no matter what during a game,” said co-defensive coordinator Jeff Burris. “How we respond during that time frame will be the key and that’s what we’re working on right now. That’s what training camp is all about, finding out who you are mentally and physically. Right now, we’re focusing on the physical, but the mental will come along with the preparation and the constant situational football we’re going through right now. I’m excited about what the season holds.”
