    Teen arrested in connection with fatal stabbing at Madera quincea

    MADERA, California — A 16-year-old male has been arrested in connection with the July 6 homicide of 13-year-old Jacob Munoz, who was fatally stabbed during a fight outside a quinceañera celebration.The suspect, identified as a person of interest, was initially taken into custody on July 8, 2024, on unrelated charges, according to the Madera Police Department. The department's Detective Unit and Special Investigations Unit worked diligently, collecting and reviewing key evidence that linked the suspect to the crime.After collaborating with the Madera County District Attorney's Office, the 16-year-old was charged with Munoz's murder this week. "We would like to thank the Madera County District Attorney's Office for working with our investigators to help bring justice to the victims and their families," stated the Madera Police Department.The investigation is ongoing, and detectives urge anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the Madera Police Department at (559) 675-4220 or Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP.
