    Two men arrested for shooting at parking enforcement officer in California

    SACRAMENTO, California — Two men have been arrested for allegedly shooting at a Sacramento County Sheriff's parking enforcement officer while she was in her vehicle on October 14, 2024. The incident occurred around 11 a.m. on the 2000 block of Wyda, according to a press release from the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office.The officer, who was unarmed, reported that her window was shot out as she completed paperwork inside her vehicle. Fortunately, she was not injured. Deputies responded quickly and discovered that the suspect vehicle had been cited by the officer earlier that morning.By 1 p.m., deputies located the suspect vehicle in a nearby parking lot with its license plates removed. Detectives identified and arrested 22-year-old Farid Vera and 26-year-old Julian Clavijogarcia for the shooting. A pellet rifle and a BB gun rifle, believed to have been used in the incident, were recovered.Both Vera and Clavijogarcia were booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on felony charges. They are each being held on $50,000 bail and are scheduled to appear in court on October 16.
