    Sacramento man arrested in fentanyl-related homicide case

    SACRAMENTO, California — A Sacramento man has been arrested in connection with a fentanyl overdose homicide, according to the Sacramento Police Department. Kyle Firebaugh, a 31-year-old, was taken into custody on October 9, 2024, and charged with homicide and felony narcotics sales.The victim, 32-year-old Bianca Bewley, was found deceased in her home on December 10, 2023, from a fentanyl overdose. Firebaugh had been in communication with Bewley about fentanyl in the days leading up to her death and admitted to supplying narcotics. He was found to have purchased a substantial amount of fentanyl just hours before her passing, stated the Sacramento Police Department.This arrest underscores the ongoing efforts of Sacramento Police Department detectives in addressing narcotics-related crimes and the growing threat of fentanyl in the community. Detectives collaborated with the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office and SAC-FORCE (Fentanyl Overdose Response Criminal Investigation Enforcement) to bring the case to justice."This case underscores the deadly threat fentanyl poses in our community," said Sacramento Police Chief Kathy Lester. "Fentanyl is not just a drug—it's a dangerous and lethal substance, and this arrest reflects our continued commitment to fighting its presence on our streets."The Sacramento Police Department urges anyone with information regarding this investigation to contact the dispatch center at (916) 808-5471 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP (4357). Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. Anonymous tips can also be submitted using the free P3 Tips smartphone app.
