Sacramento man arrested in fentanyl-related homicide case

SACRAMENTO, California — A Sacramento man has been arrested in connection with a fentanyl overdose homicide, according to the Sacramento Police Department. Kyle Firebaugh, a 31-year-old, was taken into custody on October 9, 2024, and charged with homicide and felony narcotics sales.The victim, 32-year-old Bianca Bewley, was found deceased in her home on December 10, 2023, from a fentanyl overdose. Firebaugh had been in communication with Bewley about fentanyl in the days leading up to her death and admitted to supplying narcotics. He was found to have purchased a substantial amount of fentanyl just hours before her passing, stated the Sacramento Police Department.This arrest underscores the ongoing efforts of Sacramento Police Department detectives in addressing narcotics-related crimes and the growing threat of fentanyl in the community. Detectives collaborated with the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office and SAC-FORCE (Fentanyl Overdose Response Criminal Investigation Enforcement) to bring the case to justice."This case underscores the deadly threat fentanyl poses in our community," said Sacramento Police Chief Kathy Lester.
