Vacaville man arrested for lewd acts with a minor

GRASS VALLEY, California — A 29-year-old man from Vacaville has been arrested on multiple felony charges involving inappropriate contact with a minor, according to the Nevada County Sheriff's Office.Ryan Carlson, of Vacaville, was taken into custody on August 14 on charges including lewd and lascivious acts with a minor, sending harmful material to seduce a minor, and contacting a minor with the intent of committing a sex crime, the sheriff's office reported.The investigation began on the evening of August 13 when deputies responded to a report of an adult male engaging in inappropriate electronic communication with a 13-year-old girl from Grass Valley. The case was forwarded to the Major Crimes Unit (MCU) for further investigation.Detectives identified Carlson as the suspect and located him in the 2400 block of Huntington Drive in Fairfield, where he was arrested. A search warrant was executed at his residence in the 800 block of Beelard Drive in Vacaville, resulting in the seizure of additional electronic devices. These devices will be sent to a forensic laboratory for examination.Due to the severity of the charges, detectives requested a bail enhancement from the Nevada County Superior Court.
