VPA girls bball titles: Fair Haven, Hazen, and West Rutland each win

BARRE, VT – In an exciting day at the Barre Auditorium, Fair Haven, Hazen, and West Rutland each won titles for their respective divisions.

DII game-
(2) Fair Haven was down 17-2 in the first quarter to (1) North Country, but orchestrated an incredible comeback to claim their first championship since 2019. The Slaters won 55-50.

DIII game-
(1) Hazen only lost one game all season and in the championship against (2) Windsor, the Wildcats couldn’t be slowed down, winning 66-56. It’s Hazen’s first title since 1991. Senior Caitlyn Davison scored 34 points, the second most in Vermont DIII title game history.

DIV game-
(2) West Rutland completed the threepeat by defeated (1) Long Trail 49-38. Junior Peyton Guay led the way with a game-high 22 points.
