Local, adoptable cat gets a celebrity endorsement

We’re still riding high from our exclusive invite to cover Jackson Galaxy’s visit to Homeward Bound, Addison County’s Humane Society just last week. To this day, Jackson’s episode remains our most popular Forever Home episode. Luckily for those that kept this story in its number one spot on our website over the weekend, we have more Jackson Galaxy and cat content for you today.
If you’re unfamiliar with Jackson, he’s a famed cat behavioralist and wellness expert. He once had his own show called ‘My Cat From Hell’ where he would help cat owners tame their otherwise out of control cats. He has also published a few books about the caretaking of cats and how we can better understand our feline friends. However, the main purpose of his visit to Homeward Bound was to help out in anyway he could.
One of those ways included shining the spotlight on some long-time, resident cats at the shelter who have seen no interest from adopters passing through. During last week’s Forever Home interview, you may remember Jackson holding onto a cat named Manny. Manny is a cat that came to Homeward Bound in late May after some life-threatening medical issues. The community at hand raised money to cover his entire vet bills and now Manny is ready for his loving home.
Jackson ended up taking a liking to Manny, or maybe it was the other way around. No matter the conditions this friendship was started on, it was love at first sight. Love at first sight is common when folks meet Manny and that’s why we’re confused about the lack of interest in adopting him.
To turn that vibe around, Jackson started highlighting everything about Manny in the middle of last week’s Forever Home episode. Jackson said, “most people have about seven seconds before they scroll to the next thing. Come on! If you were scrolling past Manny? I mean, seriously? I would stick around for seven seconds just for like, a face full of that. This is the way to do it though. Let me tell you something. This guy is such a superstar! Could you please come down and adopt Manny, please? ‘Cause this is ridiculous!”
So what are you waiting for? Not only is Manny marvelous and adorable, he has the endorsement of a celebrity within the world of cats. If you would like more information about how to adopt Manny, all you have to do is visit Homeward Bound’s website. Please help us find Manny his deserving, loving Forever Home sooner rather than later.
