    Blanchard Helps Saints Sweep Classic

    PLATTSBURGH, NY – The 42nd Annual Cross-Country Cardinal Classic would be won by a pair of fellow North Country schools, and a former Section 7 Stand Out.

    The Saint Lawrence men’s and women’s cross-country teams won their first races of the 2024 season, led by a pair of first-time individual winners.

    Ticonderoga High School alum, Avery Blanchard won the first ever race of her college career, doing back on a course she ran in over the last four years, at Plattsburgh State Field House Complex. Racing to a top time of 19:28.0 over the 3.1 mile course.

    On the men’s side, Nicholas Lyndaker finished first for the first time. The junior wins the race in a time of 16:11.

    The Saine Lawrence women won the team race with 17 points, 29 points in front of the host school Plattsburgh State. The men’s race went to SLU with only 20 points, a 34-point win over the Cardinals.
