ST. JOHNSBURY, VT. (MyCV) – The man left in critical condition after a shooting in St. Johnsbury earlier this month has been identified.

Matthew Christman, 41, of St. Johnsbury, was shot on October 6 inside an apartment on McGill Avenue. At 3:30 a.m., an unnamed witness notified officers of a masked individual that had broken into the apartment.

Christman was reportedly shot once in the chest, and remains in critical condition at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.

Investigators have yet to name a suspect, and believe this to be a targeted incident. Anyone with additional information can call VSP St. Johnsbury barracks at (802) 748-3111.
