Rain erases Mountaineers regular season finale, team talks playoffs

The Vermont Mountaineers went for their 31st win of the season on Wednesday afternoon at home against Ocean State, but the weather gods had different plans for them. Up 4-2 in the top of the fifth and needing just three outs for the game to be considered official, Vermont surrendered two runs to tie the game. Rain began to pour down forcing the game to be suspended. It won’t be made up.

Vermont will host Martha’s Vineyard on Thursday at 6:30 to begin their playoff run.
