    Two teens arrested in Largo shooting that left 17-year old injured amid escalating feud

    LARGO, Florida — Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with a shooting on New Jersey Street that left a 17-year-old male injured, according to the Largo Police Department.On August 7, 2024, just before 11 p.m., Largo police received multiple calls reporting a shooting in the area of New Jersey Street and Clearwater Largo Road North. The victim, a 17-year-old male, was walking home when he felt he was being followed. As he entered his backyard on New Jersey Street, three masked men produced at least two handguns and fired a total of twelve rounds, striking the victim in the leg. One of the projectiles penetrated the victim's grandmother's trailer and landed in her lap. A second family member exited the residence and was immediately met with gunfire from the masked subjects. She retreated into the residence and was not harmed. The victim was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.The victim identified one of the subjects as Daunte Beckwith, with whom he had been having an ongoing feud. Patrol officers conducted a neighborhood canvas and located Beckwith nearby. Beckwith was detained and made admissions to the shooting.During the investigation, Largo Police Detectives identified two other subjects, one of whom was involved in the shooting. It was also learned that one of the firearms used in this incident was stolen from a robbery in Clearwater Police Department's jurisdiction earlier in the evening.On August 9, 2024, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office apprehended the second subject, Ze'tovan Neeley, in St. Petersburg. Neeley was in possession of the stolen firearm from the Clearwater Police Department robbery case at the time of his arrest. Neeley was interviewed by Largo Detectives and made admissions regarding his involvement in the shooting.Beckwith, 15 years old, and Neeley, 14 years old, were transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center and charged with the following:- Daunte Beckwith: - Attempted Felony Murder - Shooting Deadly Missiles into an Occupied Dwelling- Ze'tovan Neeley: - Attempted Felony Murder - Shooting Deadly Missiles into an Occupied Dwelling - Armed Robbery (Charge from Clearwater Police Department)The Largo Police Department expressed gratitude to the Clearwater Police Department and the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office for their assistance in the case. The investigation is ongoing.
