    Tampa concludes Hurricane Debby vegetative debris collection

    TAMPA, Florida — The City of Tampa Solid Waste Department will conclude the collection of vegetative storm debris on August 23, 2024.

    Residents are urged to place their hurricane vegetative debris curbside as soon as possible. The debris will be collected on the customer's designated yard waste collection day, according to a press release from the City of Tampa Solid Waste Department.

    To ensure a smooth and efficient collection process, residents are asked to follow these guidelines:

    Curbside Collection: Leave vegetative storm debris at the curb until it is collected.Preparation: Place vegetative storm debris curbside in a pile or in a non-city-issued garbage container.Accepted Materials: Vegetative storm debris includes shrubs, palm fronds, tree limbs, grass, leaves, twigs, and branches.Unaccepted Materials: Vegetative debris will only be accepted in paper yard waste bags and non-city-issued containers.

    For large downed tree limbs and to report damage to trees due to Hurricane Debby, residents should notify the City's Forestry Division at 813-274-5744 before August 23, 2024.

    "We appreciate the cooperation and patience of our residents as we work to restore our neighborhoods following Hurricane Debby," stated the press release.

    To stay updated on the status of vegetative debris collection and receive personalized schedules, residents can download the Tampa Trash and Recycling app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

    Customers with any questions or concerns can contact the City of Tampa Utilities Call Center at (813) 274-8811 or visit the website at www.tampa.gov/solidwaste. New Tampa residents are encouraged to contact Hillsborough County Solid Waste Management at (813) 272-5680 for their collection schedule.
