Tampa opens application window for e-bike vouchers

TAMPA, Florida — The application window for Tampa's e-Bike Voucher Program opens tomorrow, Friday, August 16 at 8 a.m. and runs through 5 p.m. on August 30.

A total of 108 vouchers will be available for City of Tampa residents aged 18 and up, according to a press release from the city's Transportation and Stormwater Services department. Applicants who applied in the spring but were not selected will be automatically rolled into this application cycle.

The program offers $1,000 standard vouchers and $2,000 and $3,000 vouchers for low and very low-income residents. Recipients will be chosen randomly through a lottery-style drawing and can redeem their voucher at one of five participating bike shops. Both Class 1 and Class 2 (throttle-assisted) e-bikes are eligible for vouchers.

Earlier this year, 112 e-bike vouchers were redeemed through the program, stated the press release.
