Suspected murder-suicide under investigation in Tampa

TAMPA, Florida — The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating a suspected murder-suicide that occurred in a parking lot at HCA Florida West Tampa Hospital.

On August 14, 2024, at 6:37 p.m., the HCSO Communications Center received a call regarding two possible deceased individuals at 6001 Webb Road. Deputies arrived on the scene to find a woman with gunshot wounds and an adult male with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities believe this is an isolated incident with no threat to the general public. The investigation is ongoing, and the Public Affairs Office will provide further updates as they become available.
