    Flagler Sheriff and FBI highlight online dangers in smartphone safety presentation

    FLAGLER COUNTY, Florida — In a collaborative effort to protect children in an increasingly digital world, Sheriff Rick Staly and FBI special agents addressed the community during the "Be Smart With Your Kids' Smartphone" presentation. The event, held on Thursday evening, focused on critical issues such as online extremism and sextortion, offering parents and guardians practical advice on safeguarding their children.

    The Flagler County Sheriff's Office, in partnership with FBI - Jacksonville and Flagler Schools, organized the event as part of their ongoing commitment to community safety and crime prevention. Sheriff Staly emphasized the importance of staying informed, stating that education is key to preventing potential threats in today’s digital landscape.“We’re committed to keeping our community safe, and that starts with empowering parents and caregivers with the knowledge they need to protect their children,” Sheriff Staly said.The event is one of many initiatives led by the Flagler County Sheriff's Office to raise awareness and equip families with the tools necessary to navigate the challenges of an online world.The Flagler County Sheriff's Office expressed gratitude to their partners and the community members who attended, reinforcing their dedication to fostering a safer environment for all.
