    Indian River county hosts statewide marine law enforcement training seminar in Sebastian

    SEBASTIAN, Florida — The Indian River County Sheriff's Office recently hosted the Florida Marine Intelligence Unit (FMIU) quarterly training seminar at Captain Hirams in Sebastian.Local, state, and federal law enforcement marine units from across Florida attended the event. Training topics included HIN 101, a U.S. Coast Guard intelligence briefing, Maritime Suspicious Activity Reporting from the FBI, BUI investigations, and training briefs from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Air and Marine/Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). Attendees also had the opportunity to network and gain valuable contacts.Special thanks were extended to Captain Hirams for hosting the event, as well as to Float On Boat Trailers, Gorilla Ammo, West Marine, Indian River Sportsman, Whites Tackle, Alpha Gun Works, Life Proof Boats, Fluid Watercraft, Captain Chase Cornell, and Hurricane Grille for their donations, which contributed to the seminar's success, according to the Indian River County Sheriff's Office.
