A now-closed Prohibition-themed eatery near Barefoot Landing is for sale.

Bourbon & Breeze, a cocktail and cigar lounge paying homage to the speakeasy days of The Jazz Age at 10435 North Kings Highway, closed in October 2023, The Sun News reported at the time.

The eatery opened in 2022 and, according to the South Carolina Department of Public Health , received ‘A’ grade inspections for cleanliness while it was in operation.

Now, the former eatery is for sale or available for rent. The 6,400-square-foot space is available for rent at $32 per square foot or for sale for $1.8 million. Built-in 2000, according to the online listing, the eatery location previously sold for $800,000 in November 1999, according to Horry County Land Records.

Ben Hines , a co-owner of the Spartanburg, S.C.-based real estate firm Spencer/Hines Properties , did not return a request for comment before publication. According to LoopNet , the Bourbon & Breeze location is the only property in the Myrtle Beach area that Spencer/Hines Properties is currently selling.

Despite the former Bourbon & Breezes’ closing, other restaurants have opened in the area to serve locals and tourists. In April 2024, The Big Chill Island House opened along the Intracoastal Waterway in Barefoot Landing, providing indoor and outdoor seating and bars for patrons to peruse.
