Did a person receive a shark bite while in the ocean in the Myrtle Beach?

Myrtle Beach Fire Department crews responded to a call along the beach outside the Marriott Myrtle Beach Resort, 8400 Costa Verde Drive, Wednesday morning for a “shark bite,” according to Capt. Jon Evans.

The person told crews that they were actually bitten by something Tuesday while in Murrells Inlet and was still concerned about it. It is unclear if the person was in the ocean in the Murrells Inlet area.

The bite appears to be minor, and the injuries were non-life threatening, according to Evans. However, it is unclear what actually bit the person.

“There’s other things out there other than sharks,” Evans said.
