A Myrtle Beach Maine Lobster restaurant is closing soon. Here’s what we know

A Myrtle Beach lobster restaurant and food truck is closing following the passing of its namesake.

Linda Bean’s Maine Lobster Inc. at 5023 Dick Pond Road in Myrtle Beach, with a corresponding food truck, announced it was closing in a Facebook post on July 15, 2024. The eatery, which did not return a request for comment before publication, stated in its post that the recent passing of Linda Bean, the restaurant’s namesake, was partly why the establishment is closing after less than two years in business.

“Due to the loss of a great woman Linda Bean, sadly our corporate offices has decided to close our business,” the restaurant wrote in its Facebook post.

As part of the closing, Linda Bean’s Maine Lobster Inc. is having a liquidation sale of its remaining product through Friday, July 19, 2024. According to the Facebook post, inventory will be 40-60 percent off.

Bean, who passed away in March 2024 , was the granddaughter of the founder of the clothing outlet L. L. Bean and was also known as a conservative activist. According to CNBC, she founded the Perfect Maine Lobster brand in 2007 and was deeply involved in the industry.

According to the eatery’s website, Linda Bean’s Maine Lobster Inc. was an all-woman-owned business with a food truck and lobster delivery service, as well as a Myrtle Beach-based lobster warehouse.
