MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – Good morning everyone, I hope that your day is off to a good start. A warm and somewhat muggy overnight with scattered showers and storms have left us with partly cloudy skies, and even some patchy fog in locations.

As we get into today, we will see some sunshine in the morning into to early afternoon. Storms will begin to form late in the day and progress into the overnight hours. These storms are capable of producing some extremely heavy rain, lightning, gusty winds, and possibly some small hail. These storms will last through the evening into the overnight hours. Lows will be in the mid to upper 70s.

The new week we will see again, mostly sunny skies, not as many storms possible, but we should be able to generate a few localized showers and or storms. Highs throughout the week will be in the upper 80s to low 90s along the coast. Inland we will see highs sticking in the low to mid 90s. It will be warm and humid, heat index values will still be elevated. We are still in the midst of a drought. We need the rain, and hopefully with the scattered storm chances all week, most of us will get some much needed rain by weeks end.
