Want to be in a music video? Here’s where one is being filmed in Myrtle Beach, SC area

Mariah Faith’s life seems like it’s been non-stop since her time as a contestant on “American Idol” in 2023.

She’s missed the “slow moving” in South Carolina and her hometown of Conway. “I’ve just been homesick the whole time,” Faith said Monday.

While in Nashville, Faith began to write about her hometown and South Carolina, the result that is a new song called “Sweet Carolina.”

She’s now filming a video for the single and is inviting the community to be a part of it. The music video will be filmed Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Stella’s Homemade Ice Cream , 1101 4th Ave. in Conway from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

The three-day video shoot will include Faith’s favorite parts of South Carolina. “I just want to highlight all the fun things in my hometown and South Carolina,” Faith said.

On Monday, she filmed a sunrise on the beach and later in the evening Faith will be with the elephant Bubbles at Myrtle Beach Safari, where they will be in the river. The video will be shot over three days and also include other Myrtle Beach area scenes, including spending a day on the water, Faith said.

The community filming on Tuesday will be outdoors and have people dancing. The invite describes it as “denim and dancing.”

Her friend’s dad is even riding a horse through downtown Conway, Faith said.

Faith described it as “doing all that redneck sh**.” “Gotta love it!” she said laughing.

The new single will be released on July 26 with the album release set for a week or two after, Faith said. The single will be available on all streaming platforms and those interested can pre-save it on Apple Music and Spotify .

Since her time on “American Idol,” Faith has focused on writing and recording her own music, as well as performing live music when she can.

She’ll also be performing on the Opry Plaza , which is a park-like setting around the Grand Ole Opry House.

The Conway resident’s “American Idol” journey ended in April 2023 when she failed to make the reality show’s top 12. Mariah Faith made the top 20 before being eliminated from the competition.
